CyboSoft to Present MFA at SEMICON West’s
Technology Innovation Showcase (TIS)

June 11, 2004 – CyboSoft will participate in the SEMI Technology Innovation Showcase (TIS) at SEMICON West 2004 to be held in San Francisco from July 12 to 14, 2004. A panel of industry technology experts selected CyboSoft’s innovative, "Model-Free Adaptive Control", to be presented at this year’s Showcase.

The TIS presenter, CyboSoft Chairman and CEO Dr. George Cheng said, “As foundries become the driving force for process technologies and urgently need flexible production capabilities, Model-Free Adaptive control will become the enabling technology for the semiconductor industry as it leaps from the static and ‘copy exact’ production stage to the flexible and efficiency-centric production era.”

MFA has been widely deployed in major process industries and helped users achieve significant economic benefits. Although it is a new technology for the semiconductor industry, initial success in field trials proves that MFA is ideal for controlling regulatory loops including mass flow, gas pressure, liquid flow, temperature, pH, and equipment motion. MFA has a proven track record and data to demonstrate its outstanding adaptive capability and control performance under large process dynamic changes and load changes. It can also effectively deal with control problems caused by process non-linearity, interacting variables, unexpected disturbances, and varying time delays.

MFA controllers have been embedded in various high-speed control instruments including National Instruments’ LabVIEW environment. Major semiconductor component and equipment vendors will also deploy MFA controllers. Whether retrofitting existing semiconductor processes or building the next generation equipment, MFA can have a major impact on flexible production, Six Sigma quality, and pollution control while delivering predictable business results.
